Old Irish Jacks are amazing, intelligent, inquisitive little dogs with big hearts and wonderful dispositions. They are incredible athletes and are short with a solid build. They are not like Eddie from the show Frazier. They are similar to the dog in the PBS show ‘Wishbone”.

Our main goal is to maintain this particular breed ‘type’, shorter, more compact, and mild mannered. They are still Terriers, and should be handled as such. Terriers need firm, consistent leadership. In the 90’s Russell. Parsons are slimmer in bone and taller in stature, and at this time are being bred for racing, dirt dogging, and so on. The can have an lively temperament, but at the end of the day, any dog can be bouncy and overexcited. If you allow your dog to behave a certain way and bring them up in a manner which ads to those ‘bouncy’ qualities you might have what I like to call- an OVERLY ACTIVE dog.

We have 1-2 litters a year, and take great pride in bring up the babies right smack in the middle if our main living area. They are hugged and cuddled right from the start. If it’s hot outside the stay in with the family and stay cool in the air conditioning, and in the cooler months they enjoy sleeping by the heater. They live with us, in our living space, not in another room somewhere else in the house. They are a part of our family unit and are treated as such.
